NSBS ELECTORAL MALPRACTICE IN UNIPORT. TRUE OR FALSE?

Samuel Christopher       Thursday 6 April 2017

The Nigerian Society of biochemistry students(NSBS) election that was conducted by the eleco On the 5th of April 2017  has been nullified due to irregularities,Fighting, petitions and More so,staff advisers were unavailable to supervise the whole process.

Students raised alarm because some one voted twice

Obsersvers were ask to stay at the extreme of the lab and not close to the ballots box

Irregularities

Students left the line and  watched through the window because it was rumored that  an eleco member issued morethan two ballots paper to an accredited student

From the information Nsbsupdates has gathered so far,we wish to inform the general public that the election was far from been free and fair.Below were our observations.

Election Result

From the  electoral result,

-The number of votes in the presidential contest is 180 + 1 void vote = 181

-The total number of vote in the vice presidential contest is 166 + 4 void vote =170

Total number of ballots paper used is 181 +170 =351
Hint:Each student were issued 2 ballots paper(one for presidential contest and the other for vice presidential contest). The moment you add presidential votes to vice presidential votes you will get the total number of ballots paper used in the election.

GOD EXPOSED THE ELECO BY MAKING THEM TO FORGET THE ACCREDITED CLASS REGISTER OF YEAR 1,3 AND 4 IN THE VOTING SCENE AFTER THE ELECTION WAS OVER.

From the accreditated class register of the above mentioned levels  the following were observed

- 19 students voted in year 1
-42 students voted in year 3
- 33 students voted  in year 4

TOTAL Number of students that voted in year 1,3 and 4 is = 94.

Since each person were issued two ballots paper(one for presidential contest and the other for vice presidential contest)then the total number of ballots paper used by year 1,3 and 4 is 94×2=188

Now that we have gotten all this,we can obtain the total number of  ballot papers used
by year 2 students by subtracting the total number of ballots paper used by year 1,year 3 and year 4 from the total number of total number of ballots paper used in the election.

Total number of ballots used in the election(351) -Total number of ballots by year 1,3 and 4(188)  = 163

Therefore the total number of ballots used by year 2 students is = 163

Now that we have gotten the total number of ballots paper used by year 2 students,we need to divide it by 2 in other to get the number of votes casted by  year 2 students since each student were issued two ballots paper(one for presidential contest and the other for Vice presidential contest)

168÷2=81.5

From the calculation above, year 2 students casted 81.5 votes which is in decimal fraction and its not supposed to be so

MOMENT OF TRUTH

1) - Remember that 351 ballots paper were used in the election.

Since each student were issued two ballots paper that means we have to divide the total number of ballots paper used in the election by 2 in other to get the total number of students that  voted in the election. 351÷ 2 =175.5

As you can see the number of students that voted is supposed to be an even number and not in decimal fraction. But from the calculation above its a decimal fraction.
It simply implies that the eleco members issued morethan one presidential or vice presidential ballots paper to some students.

2) - 10 Persons were picked from each level to vote starting from year one line. How come year one casted only 19votes,year three 42 votes, year four 33 and from calculation year two casted over 81 votes.

This simply shows that the eleco did not follow the normal trend in picking students to vote from each level(its supposed to be 10 from each level at a time)

Any one who does not understand this Analysis should go through it again.

The Analysis was not made in other to cause any problem but to elucidate NSBS Students on everything that happened in voting scene.

Am happy the Department nullified the ill-conducted election.

Before i drop my pen,i want to use this medium to appeal to all the aggrieved students of biochemistry to lay aside there grievances and prepare for a free and fair election that will be conducted by thesame eleco and staff advicers  by Wednesday next week being the 12th of April 2017

  3. I voted Braxon but honesty the election was a mess, I ask myself why are the SUG officials, Eleco members, past BCH Comr's interested in Braxon victory?. They all know they can control him (dats my findings). I seriously want him to win but let it be his victory & not their victory.

    1. I luv ur comment dear. Whoever wins should win fairly and not through influential powers. Let us all stand up for what is right because everything happening in our society begins with us. ELECO members learn to be fair, past president learn to be neutral for whom you discredit today might be ur boss tomorrow.
